Cars, trucks, and a streetcar navigate the intersection of Rampart Blvd and 3rd St, Los Angeles, circa 1920sSomehow all these cars, trucks, and a streetcar are managing to navigate the intersection of Rampart Blvd and 3rd St without any traffic lights. This intersection is a couple of blocks north of MacArthur Park which back in the 1920s when this photo was taken was called Westlake Park. I love that billboard for Desmond’s menswear store, but most of all I love the frame around the billboard and those two figural sculptures at either end.

    The folks over at Duke University Libraries think that might be a drawing. If you look at a close up, they may be right.
