I’d say someone on the Warner Bros. lot had a sense of humor. The sign on this soundstage door reads “Do Not Open While Red Lights Are On – Vitaphoning.” Vitaphone was the sound recording system developed by Warner Bros. in 1926 made most famous by their early talkie “The Jazz Singer.” This photo was taken in 1937—I’d love to know what movie they were shooting inside that soundstage!
