For those of you not familiar with LA geography, Ventura Boulevard is the main drag that runs the length of the San Fernando Valley. These days, it is one, long, 18-mile continuous stretch of stores, malls, offices, restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets. According to Wikipedia, it is the longest of its type in the world—and I don’t doubt it. I don’t have a date on this photo but to see Ventura Boulevard (in the Woodland Hills stretch) THIS empty is pretty staggering.
