This is an aerial photograph of Disneyland on opening day, July 17, 1955. View is looking north, with Harbor Boulevard on the upper right and the Santa Anna Freeway running across the top. What amazes me is that the vast parking lot at the bottom of the picture isn’t even half full. Maybe this photo was taken first thing in the morning because most accounts of that day describe were very long lines. Also, check out the all those empty fields. These days, it’s urban development as far as you can see.
