I’m glad that whoever took this photo of Los Angeles’ Chinatown in the late 1940s (if those cars in the background are anything to go by) thought to take it in color. The use of neon outlining the buildings on Gin Ling Way is all the more striking in such vivid reds and greens, isn’t it?
