Original Brown Derby restaurant, Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, 1940

Original Brown Derby restaurant, Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, 1940I’ve posted a ton of photos of the original Brown Derby restaurant on Wilshire Blvd but from this angle (the photographer would have been standing at the front driveway into the Ambassador Hotel) and with those people out front, we can see more clearly the size of the place. The actual hat wasn’t all that big so I can see now why they added that extension with the umbrellas to the east.

And let’s not forget that gorgeous lantern-style streetlight out front!

More beautifully atmospheric photos, Martin! What I would give to have lunch under those umbrellas….
