Judging from that white-topped 1935 Ford convertible in the foreground, I’m going to say that this shot of the Sunset Plaza section of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood is mid 1930s. I haven’t been able to identify exactly where this shot was taken, but to my mind, that’s not the point. What I find striking are the buildings themselves, or more particularly the variety of architectural styles. Each one is different from its neighbor, which must have made driving around town a visually enjoyable experience . . . especially in that sporty little convertible!
UPDATE: It appears that the building on the right is 9109 Sunset Blvd. The photo below is from January 2019:
9109 Sunset … looks like a couple of them are still in existence. The one called “contempo” is easily identifiable. The one next to it is shrouded in greenery. Maybe it lurks beneath?
I don’t have anything specific about your building, Grant, but Melrose near Gower has been photographed often so keep googling. You never know your luck!

I’d say you’re absolutely right, Alistair!
My Building is on Melrose near Gower at 5625 Melrose north side of the street.
The building was built around 1926.
Looking for some old photos.
