Here we have one of the administration buildings at the Warner Brothers movie studio lot in Burbank. Judging from the 1941 Packard parked out front, this was probably taken sometime during the war years. Those buildings with the curved roofs are the soundstages, and the tall one on the right is stage 16, which was raised 30 feet to accommodate a colossal musical number in “Cain and Mabel” starring Marion Davies and Clarke Gable. In the 1970s, that mountain in the background would play the role of Walton’s Mountain in the TV series “The Waltons.”
