Looking south toward Santa Monica on Roosevelt Highway (later Pacific Coast Hwy) proving that parking has always been a challenge on a sunny, beach-worthy day, circa 1920sIn this photo looking south toward Santa Monica on Roosevelt Highway (later Pacific Coast Hwy) we modern-day Angelenos can take some sort of comfort knowing that those who came before us also found parking to be a challenge on a sunny, beach-worthy days. This photo was taken circa 1920s, and here we are 100 years later and it can still be a pain in the you-know-what.

** UPDATE ** – A commenter below says that the house on the left is at 17518 Castellammare Drive, which means this is how the view on the vintage photo looked in December 2023.
