Clara Bow came to be known as the movies’ quintessential flapper. The film “It” brought her global fame and the nickname “The It Girl.” She attended the Garden of Allah’s opening party after which she moved in. The Bow biograpy “Runnin’ Wild” by David Stenn says that the revelry in Clara’s room was not as appealing to other Garden of Allah residents. When songwriter Nacio Herb Brown pounded on the wall demanding quiet, his anger puzzled Clara. The parties usually ended with a sunrise swim in the hotel. Bow eventually left the Garden of Allah to buy a house in Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills.
