Zep Diner, Wilmington, Los Angeles, early 1930s

Zep Diner, zeppelin-shaped cafe in Wilmington adjacent to Port of Los Angeles, circa early 1930s. In 1929 William Randolf Hearst sponsored a round-world voyage of the Graf Zeppelin. It landed in LA (at an area called Mine’s Field, a precursor to LAX) in August ’29 to great excitement and acclaim. So I’m guessing the owner of this eaterie was really, REALLY impressed!
