Orson Welles’ hotel room at the Chateau Marmont, Sunset Blvd, 1941

Orson Welles room and office, Chateau Marmont Hotel, Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, 1940I’ve decided that I’m psychic. I recently posted a photo of the interior of the Hollywood bar, Don the Beachcomber, which was the location for a scene in my third novel, Citizen Hollywood. I hadn’t seen that photo when I wrote the scene so I was pleased to see that I pretty much got it right. In that same novel, I describe Orson Welles’ hotel room at the Chateau Marmont when Kathryn goes to visit him there with Robert Benchley. Yesterday, I came across this 1941 photo of Orson Welles’ room (I don’t know where) and it’s pretty much as I describe it in my novel. And that’s why I’ve decided I’m psychic.

  1. I believe this is his office or dressing room at RKO. I’m more inclined to lean toward office
