Hollywood Blvd looking east from Cahuenga Blvd, 1938

This photo was taken looking east along Hollywood Blvd from Cahuenga Blvd. The building on the right with the tall tower is still there, with the tower intact. The two-toned building on the left a block away is called the Guaranty Building. It’s an office building that Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. DeMille originally invested in this building and for a long while was where gossip columnist Hedda Hopper worked out of. The notation for this photo dated it circa 1936, but that banner on the right is advertising Errol Flynn’s “The Adventures of Robin Hood” which came out May of 1938.This photo was taken looking east along Hollywood Blvd from Cahuenga Blvd. The building on the right with the tall tower is still there, with the tower intact.
