In this photo, we’re looking north up Vine Street toward the Hollywoodland sign, shortly after it was installed in the Hollywood Hills in 1923. The photographer was standing at Vine Street & Barton Ave. Vine Street elementary is on the left hand side and the Department of Water and Power building in the middle.

The “H” we can see in the hills to the left of the sign is for Hollywood High School. Not many references or photos online as it didn’t last long.
