Traffic jam at the corner of Broadway and 7th Street, downtown Los Angeles, circa early 1920sAnd we thought our traffic was bad. This is the corner of Broadway and 7th Street in downtown L.A. some time in the early 1920s. Not only did these people have to deal with automobiles and pedestrians, but also streetcars and horse-drawn carriages. They probably all breathed a collective sigh of relief the day the city installed traffic lights.
