I live near the Hollywood Freeway (the 101) and only recently discovered that it used to have a streetcar line running down the middle of it. This photo was taken in 1948, as a Red Car was heading into the Valley via the Cahuenga Pass. Oh, what a joy it’d be to sit on one of those things and wave at the poor suckers stuck in traffic, like the ones here:
