Cocoanut Grove Nightclub and dance floor, Ambassador Hotel, Wilshire Blvd, Los AngelesI’ve come across plenty of photos of the Cocoanut Grove nightclub at the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard, but I think this is one of my favorites. You can really see the nightclub-y atmosphere of the place, with the sizeable dance floor and those little lamps on the tables. It really must have been something.

    Dear Martin: It truly was amazing. I was there many times, but the two I remember forever were watching the great Lena Horne perform and a tribute to my aunt for being with W.R. for 35 years. (circa 1946). Love, L
