The Garden of Allah’s swimming pool was one of its most famous features—probably because, at the time, it was the largest private swimming pool in town…or at least that was its reputation. This shot isn’t dated, but it has to be early because all the greenery is still very young. So the best guess is that this was taken not long after the hotel opened (January 1927), back when the place was still called the Garden of Alla, before the final “h” was added. I don’t know if it was hazy that day or if the photo is simply old and grainy, but it sure looks the Garden of Allah OOZED with atmosphere!
