  1. I am one of the few (I suspect) who remembers the Hollywood days when the Hollywood Freeway was ever that vacant; ditto the Harbor Freeway. Love always.

Enjoy and look forward to your comments, Louella. And Martin, yes, very film noir. I can picture this as a title frame on a movie. My favorite genre. Love these pics. Jean

  3. Hi Martin: did you finally get some rain? Thank you Jean Hunter for your lovely comment; and isn’t Martin the best? We are so fortunate to have him. L.

I feel like a kid in a candy shop with only one penny haha I am so glad I found Martin’s site. His tireless passion for a period and place in time that draws people like us here is so appreciated! And I appreciate you also very much, Louella. People such as Martin and you are blessings to an old movie buff! I’m still poring through these pages. Only wish I had posted long before now. Take care! Jean

That would be the Hollywood Boulevard overpass ahead. The sign tells you that the Sunset exit is about to diverge from the right lane just past the structure. It ran uphill all the way to Sunset and passed through a tunnel below the southbound on-ramp from Hollywood Boulevard (like an over under “X” along the embankment).
