Corner of Sunset and Vine at night, circa 1957

Corner of Sunset and Vine at night, circa 1957There’s a scene in my 5th book – Reds in the Beds – when Kathryn and Marcus realize that one of them is being followed by a process server and they hurry through the dark streets of Hollywood to avoid him. This is the photo that I used as inspiration. There are conflicting dates for this photo—it appears to be 1957—but I thought it a wonderfully atmospheric shot looking up Vine Street, Hollywood, past the NBC studios on the Sunset Boulevard corner.

Love night shots of vintage Hollywood with neon shining on rain-slick streets. Always evokes my favorite genre – film noir.

    Thanks for sharing –
