These days we’ve become used to the Disney Studios as being a multi-tentacled behemoth sprawling across the globe, but like most behemoths, its origins were really quite modest. This is the original Disney Studio at 2710 – 2729 Hyperion Ave in Los Feliz. Disney were there from 1926 to 1940, and when this photo was taken in 1931 all they really had gone for them was a spunky little mouse. No wonder he features so prominently on their sign. Aside from all that, though, it’s nice to see what a charming building the studios were, but perhaps that’s to be expected from a company who was all about the visuals.
