vintage advertisement for Grauman’s Chinese Theater, which appeared in the 1928 edition of The Film Daily Yearbook, published less than one year after the theater opened. Pictured is Sid GraumanSeeing as how “Grauman’s Chinese Theatre” is synonymous with “Hollywood movie premiere,” it’s funny to think that Sid Grauman had to advertise his venue as a place people might want to hold their premieres. This advertisement appeared in the 1928 edition of The Film Daily Yearbook, published less than one year after the theater opened. The guy in the photo is Mr. Sid Grauman himself, a great Hollywood showman if ever there was one (and an all-round great guy, by all reports.)
