Electric sidewalk car in Venice, Los Angeles, circa 1920

Electric sidewalk car in Venice, Los Angeles, circa 1920Well, this looks like fun. Apparently at Venice Beach, somebody offered rides on an “electric sidewalk car” up and down the boardwalk. That beachfront walk is always so crowded these days that something like that would be more of a hindrance. Take a moment to note how these people are dressed. This photo is circa 1920 – I can’t imagine going down to Venice wearing a collar, tie & suit, or stockings and a girdle. Most of the time I’m down there, even a tee-shirt is too hot.

I love fresh ginger, but molasses not so much! Still, I&;7218#m going to try both versions of switchel. Great name for a drink and a fun post. Thanks!
