It’s my understanding that Sorrento Beach was named by Austin Nienhauser who owned Neeny’s Weenies located directly opposite Sorrento Beach. He told me it gave the area some class . I worked for Neeny in ‘46 and 1947 along with Dave Heiser slinging hot dogs and burgers.

I remember Neeny’s! I read an account from a guy who said he gave Neeny a ride from the bottom of the Incline to Malibu. It wasn’t to long after WWII. Neeny told him he had recently bought a “hot dog stand” near there.
