Shirley Temple’s bungalow at 20th Century Fox, 1936
When I first saw this house, I thought, “That looks like a nice place to live in.” And then I realized: it’s Shirley Temple’s bungalow at 20th Century-Fox! Achieving extraordinary fame at such a young age, and surrounded by such luxury, it’s remarkable how level-headed and grounded Shirley grew up to be, and a testament to what a remarkable person she was. This photo is dated 1936, when Shirley would have been 8.

Given Shirley’s childhood, isn’t it a miracle she grew into such a remarkable adult?
I attended her 10th (I think) birthday party held at 20th & received what now would be called a wide-angle photo of Shirley and all her guests – sadly it got lost during one of my moves over the years. Love always, Lou.
I’d love to live in that sweet bungalow too, Martin. Goes to show you how much the studio thought of this multi-talented little money-maker to build this for her. There will never ever in my belief be another child star in the likes of Shirley. Nor one to grow up as dignified and unspoiled. The mold was broken with Shirley.
Wonder if that is a religious symbol on the roof top or I guess just an ornament?

My grandmother who was born in 1922, back then it would make her 9 years old, having been poor, the 3rd of 5 children, and being in a two bedroom shack in the country of Jamaica ?? , would have loved their house to death. She would have called it a palace of dignity. Yet in 1965 when my father was just 6 and the second of 2 boys and one girl, they moved to D.C before my father was born, they finally got there first television. My grandmother watched Surley Temples shows until she fell asleep at midnight almost 2:09 in the morning. And by 7:00 a.m she hit the city bus for work, that is how much she loved Temples shows. She has went on the be with the Lord in 2011, my grandfather in 2013, my dads older brother in 2002 when I was two. But I will never forget how interested my grandmother was in Surleys Talent.☮️?
James Brown is born on in 1898, in Clairmount Texas. When James is 19, he works at a Barbie-Cue Restaurant. James family moved to Mercyville Tennessee when he was a child, and so did his wife Amelia, born in 1903,from Selma Alabama. James met Amelia in 1919 when she was 16, he fell in love, they married in 1920, their first child Ezekiel born in 1925, their second Mark is born in 1929. The family moves to Pigeonforge, Tennessee. James becomes an automobile repair in1935, the couples last child and daughter Sandi is born in 1938, at Mary Bethoone Cookman Hospital.
